With just four weeks remaining, preparations are well underway for Scottish Skipper Expo 2026, taking place at P&J Live in Aberdeen over two packed days in May.

This year’s event takes place on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th May, and this is a return after a year’s break following the decision to switch to running the show in alternate years. The Scottish Skipper Expo stands as the only dedicated commercial fishing exhibition of its kind in 2026 in the UK and Ireland, offering a valuable opportunity for the industry to come together once again.
‘This year marks two years since the sector last gathered in Aberdeen, making this year’s event particularly significant for reconnecting face-to-face,’ said The Skipper’s commercial fishing manager Sharon Boyle, commenting that mor than 170 companies are now confirmed to exhibit, representing a broad cross-section of the fishing industry, from vessel equipment and technology to gear, services, and shoreside support.

‘The strong international participation further reflects the Expo’s standing as a key meeting point for the wider European fishing sector,’ she said.
‘A distinctive feature of the Expo remains the display of seven fishing vessels within the exhibition hall, including vessels from new exhibitors Ness Marine and North Coast Workboats, giving visitors a rare opportunity to step aboard and view working boats up close.’
In addition to the exhibition, visitors can enjoy the popular Seafood Scotland tasting area, offering a selection of high-quality Scottish seafood across both days. Full catering facilities and a bar will also be available within the show centre, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming environment throughout the event.
The Scottish Skipper Expo continues to attract strong attendance from across Scotland, including visitors travelling from key fishing communities such as Shetland, as well as from the wider UK and Ireland.
‘With only four weeks to go, there’s a real sense of momentum building,’ Sharon Boyle said.
‘The Expo provides an important opportunity to meet in person, catch up with colleagues, and see what’s new across the industry. We very much look forward to welcoming everyone to Aberdeen.’
Free visitor registration is open — attendees are encouraged to plan their visit in advance to make the most of what promises to be two busy and productive days.
