The Frozen at Sea Fillet Association has seen some changes to its board, as Sturri Haraldsson retires and new members Katrine Florvaag and Orri Gustafsson have joined with appointments to ensure that each of the association’s main member nations remains represented.
Orri Gustafsson is managing director of Seagold, based in Hull, while Katrine Florvaag is sales manager at Ramoen, based in Ålesund.
‘A very warm welcome to Katrine and Orri. I have known both of them for a number of years, and they have each been strong supporters of FASFA and the work we do on behalf of our members. Their experience, knowledge and industry connections will be a valuable addition to the board,’ said FASFA executive director Julie Waites.
‘Their appointments also ensure that FASFA’s directors continue to reflect the interests and perspectives of each of our main member nations. I look forward to working with them as directors and to building on the strong relationships we have developed over the years.’
FASFA also recognises the input of Sturri Haraldsson, who has retired from the seafood industry, including his role as a FASFA director and he is taking on new challenges now that he has been appointed mayor the Akranes municipality in Iceland.
‘We would like to thank Sturri for his many years of service and for the contribution he has made to FASFA and the wider seafood sector. He has been a valued colleague and friend to many of us, and he will be greatly missed,’ Julie Waites commented.
‘We wish Sturri every success in his new role as mayor of Akranes It is a fitting new chapter for someone with his experience, commitment and enthusiasm, and we look forward to keeping in touch.’
