Danish pelagic trawler/purse seiner “Ruth” HG264 started out 2014 by getting a brand new set of Mackerel gear from Vónin.
The 1200 metre HEX meshed Mackerel trawl is made from the Vónin’s new net twine called Capto. It’s a traditional Super12 nylon with a hard Polyethylene cover. The bars have machine spliced eyes and are delivered in the required lengths for the specific trawl. Then, they are connected with Dyneema loops.
The material has been in action since May 2013 in Red Fish trawls, Mackerel/Herring trawls and Blue Whiting trawls and has proven to be extremely endurable, strong and easy to handle on deck.
The trawl that “Ruth” has received is one of the most popular designs already delivered for both Danish and Faroese vessels in different sizes.
Together with the trawl, they also decided to buy a set of Injector’s newest contribution to their pelagic series, the “Monarch”. This door has been tested in flume tanks and has proven to have the highest CL/CD values ever measured.
