Launched a few weeks ago at this year’s Donsö Shipping Meet, new Swedish fishing industry organisation Vi Svenska Fiskare brings together the Swedish Pelagic Federation (SPF PO), Svenska Insjöfiskares Centralförbund, representing inland fisheries, and Sveriges Fiskares Producentorganisation (SFPO), which represents the coastal fleet.
The board of Vi Svenska Fiskare has appointed Anna-Karin Trixe as the organisation’s first CEO. The brief is to create a unified voice for Swedish fishing and together strengthen the conditions for a competitive and sustainable fishing industry. She takes up her new role on 1st January 2026.

Anna-Karin is currently Head of Strategy at Framtiden, Sweden’s largest housing group and the City of Gothenburg’s public utility. She brings to the role leadership experience and perspectives from driving change processes and coordinating players from different parts of society to create social benefit.
‘Vi Svenska Fiskare is the unified voice that the fishing industry needs and together with our members I want to work for a sustainable and viable fishing industry also in the future. It will be exciting to be involved and set the framework for how we build the new organisation,’ Anna-Karin Trixe said.
Vi Svenska Fiskare aims to ensure long-term conditions for a viable Swedish fishery that in turn provides stability for stocks, nutrition and the entire society.
‘Our goal is robust and long-term fishing that is an obvious part of Sweden’s food supply in everyday life and in crisis. We look forward to Anna-Karin now leading that journey forward,’ said Mathias Ivarsson, interim chairman of the board of Vi Svenska Fiskare.
‘As an experienced leader with great strategic expertise, Anna-Karin will play an important role in the work of strengthening the long-term conditions for a strategically important industry for Sweden.’
Vi Svenska Fiskare’s members together account for 95% of the fishing in Sweden.
