After a break last year, the Scottish Skipper Expo is back as the UK and Irish commercial fishing industry again gathers in Aberdeen for what promises to be a couple of packed days.

‘After two years and a lot of conversations, it’s now showtime. This is the one opportunity in 2026 to see the entire industry together under one roof — to meet face-to-face, do business, and strengthen the relationships that matter,’ said organiser Mara Media’s commercial fishing manager Sharon Boyle, commenting that the switch to holding the event every two years has attracted even stronger support from across the industry.
‘We’re bringing together more companies than the previous show and delivering a broader, more comprehensive line-up for visitors to experience with strong international participation in a focused, two-day event and the only opportunity this year to meet the sector face-to-face and do business. The Expo offers a comprehensive showcase of the latest vessels, equipment, technology, and services shaping today’s fishing sector,’ she said.
There are well-known names among the exhibitor line-up – Furuno, Macduff Shipyards, Parkol Marine Engineering, Finning and Macduff Diesel, Karstensens Shipyard, FF Skagen and Zamakona Shipyards, and regular Irish exhibitors including Seaquest Systems, KT Nets, KER Group and Swan Net Gundry – as well as a strong showing of first-time exhibitors.

‘A standout feature once again will be the display of seven fishing vessels inside the exhibition hall, including new exhibitors Ness Marine and North Coast Workboats, alongside long-standing supporter G Smyth Boats, who has been part of the Expo since the very first event,’ Sharon Boyle said.
Within the exhibition hall, visitors can enjoy a taste of Scotland at the tasting area, serving crab claws, mackerel pâté, and Cullen skink across both days.
‘We are very grateful to Seafood Scotland for their continued support of the Expo. Their presence adds something special to the show and is always enjoyed by visitors across both days,’ she said.
‘Whether you are involved in vessels under 10 metres, larger vessel operations, or part of the wide range of shoreside and service businesses that support the fleet, there is something here for every part of the sector. Scottish Skipper Expo is a gathering of your fishing community – a place to catch up, share experiences, and spend time with others across the industry. Everyone is encouraged to come along, take part, and make the most of two busy and worthwhile days.’
The Scottish Skipper Expo 2026 takes place at P&J Live on 7-8th May, and the event is supported by the Scottish Fishermen’s Federation and Peterhead Port Authority.
Visitor entry is free of charge, ensuring the event remains accessible to all involved in the fishing industry.
