Looking for new possibilities following the cancellation of this year’s exhibition, Holland Fisheries Event is presenting an online exhibition journal.
This year’s exhibition at Urk had to be called off because of the Covid-19 pandemic, and instead, Holland Fisheries Event, together with media partner, Dutch fishing industry trade magazine Visserijnieuws, will launch an online exhibition programme on Friday morning, 2nd October.
Klaas-Jelle Koffeman, chairman of the organising foundation Visserijdagen Urk, is the anchorman of the exhibition journal. In the news digest he interviews the new mayor of Urk, Cees van den Bos, about the future of the sector.
‘Originally from the mussel sector in Zeeland, Cees van den Bos has a warm bond with the fishing sector and some interesting points of view,’ Klaas-Jelle Koffeman said.
Lourens de Boer, CEO of VCU Maritime, located in Urk, will speak about their latest innovation, robotisation on board.
‘It’s good to see that innovations are being developed time and again to improve the quality of fish processing on board,’ he said.
During the premiere of the exhibition news digest, on Friday morning 2nd October at 10.00, there will be plenty of opportunities to ask the organisation questions about developments and innovations via the Holland Fisheries Event 2020 YouTube channel, using the chat facility. The exhibition newsreel is subtitled in English.
