Service boat operator Aqua Seawork, specialising in aquaculture support, has placed an order with Moen Marin for a fleet of five new vessels, making this one of the yard’s largest ever contracts worth close to NoK500 million.
‘We are very pleased that Aqua Seawork has chosen us. We are really looking forward to working closely together in their venture. This confirms once again that we are successful with our commitment to low-emission boats,’ said Moen Marin sales manager Michael Kristiansen.
The contract is for two NabCat 1512, two NabCat 1812 and one NabCat 2112.
Aqua Seawork was founded in 2013 and is located in Åfjord municipality in Trøndelag. It currently operates three boats, of which one is from Moen Marin. Now the company is looking to expand.
‘We are going from three to eight boats. It gives us increased capacity and flexibility. Five new vessels give us more predictability. This allows us to handle far more complex operations,’ said Aqua Seawork’s owner and general manager Arne Magnar Guttelvik.
Moen Marin made a great deal of progress towards its goal of electrifying the aquaculture industry. It has so far delivered 110 hybrid boats, as well as one fully electric high-speed vessel.
‘We are strengthening the framework for safe operations, good work routines and a working environment that provides continuity in the operation. For us, the well-being of the crew is a prerequisite for stable and quality deliveries,’ said Aqua Seawork co-owner Wenche Sundet.
‘We have a clear goal of delivering boats that work in practice, both today and over time. At the same time, we must be fully in step with the demands on sustainability. The future is lower emissions. This is what we are now delivering on,’ said Michael Kristiansen.
‘Aquaculture companies must know that when they buy a boat from us, it is completely in line with the requirements now set by the authorities.’
Moen Marin’s vessels are designed to meet new operational requirements in the aquaculture industry, including handling new technology such as submersible cages. The development has been completed in close collaboration with operators and fish farmers, as well as relevant equipment and technology suppliers.
