Icelandic tech company KAPP has struck a deal with Arctic Resource Norge to supply and integrate a complete processing line for Golden Atlantic’s king crab and snow crab production.
KAPP will act as the single supplier and system integrator for the supplied processing line, coordinating mechanical, electrical and control interfaces to create a continuous, efficient product flow through the factory.
The project combines automated product and basket flow with dedicated work areas for manual butchering and quality control. The process is configured to support controlled cooking, cooling, brine freezing, glazing and hardening before the finished product is packed for cold storage.
Automated handling between the different processing stages is intended to reduce unnecessary manual handling and support consistent production. Flexible routing also allows the product to follow different process paths depending on species and product requirements.

The line is designed to manage the production flow from tub infeed to packed product. It brings together a complete process with automated tub handling and product buffering, butchering and by-product removal, inspection, cleaning and bleeding, basket transport, cooking, cooling and brine-freezing process stages, glazing and hardening, carton packing, and return flows for tubs and baskets.
