Mayra-Lisa N-22 made its first catch on August 23rd, the day before her official christening in Nieuwport. Icelandic company Trefjar completed the Mayra-Lisa N-22 for new owners, the company Rederij Dezutter. The company is operating from Nieuwpoort in Belgium run by father and son, Marc and Peter Dezutter, who ordered the new vessel from Trefjar after travelling to Iceland. Peter Dezutter is the skipper, and the Mayra-Lisa was named after two of Marc’s Dezutter’s grandchildren.
The new Mayra-Lisa N-22 has a LOA of 14.99 meters, with a 4.65 meter beam and depth of 2.25 meters. Mayra-Lisa is a static gear boat, a change from the company’s previous vessel, Fighter O-124, which has since been scrapped.
Trefjar has constructed Mayra-Lisa with the care and attention to detail typical of the company. Mayra-Lisa’s hull is made from hand laid GRP and she has a balsawood sandwich deck. The vessel has three watertight spaces; the wheelhouse/cabin, the fiah hold and the engine room. With a teak interior, sleeping space for 5 people and a fully equipped galley the crew can be assured of comfortable trips out.
Besides two Volvo Penta D9 engines, Mayra-Lisa also has two ZF 286IV with a reduction ratio of 2.011:1. The diesel engines are mounted aft with the V-drive gearboxes. Expected working speeds are 12-18 knots.
On deck the working space will be around 40 m2, with a fish hold of 25 m3. The fish hold comes with 260 standard fish boxes. With a Kæling slurry ice machine and Bitzer cooling unit Mayra-Lisa was well prepared for her first trip out. With trips of 2 to 3 days each time, the Dezutters hope to maintain fish quality as well as fish sustainably.
With systems from Furuno such as the FAR-2117 BB radar, FR-8062 radar, FCV-585 Echosounder, FA-150 UAIS, SC-50 GPS satellite compass and GP-150 GPS receiver her new owners can expect the best performance. In addition to these, Mayra-Lisa also comes equipped with WAASP 160kHz echosounder and navigator plotting software, Eberspächer H10 diesel heater, Vetus BOW230HM hydraulic bowthruster and an Anscütz Nautopilot NP60-100-037 autopilot which interfaces with the bowthruster.
For fishing, Mayra-Lisa is set up with an AS Scan HLT 500.250 gillnet hauler, an AS Scan Type 2 Netclearer, an AS Scan Crabcrusher and an AS Scan Net Transporter. Mayra-Lisa’s first catch was several kilos of sole, a good start for the new vessel.
