Icelandic boatbuilder Trefjar has delivered a new Cleopatra 40 fast fishing vessel to father and son William and Iain MacDonald in North Uist in the Western Isles of Scotland.

Iain ‘Paco’ Macdonald skippers the new Two Daughters SY-90, which has already started fishing.
Laid out with a half-sheltered working deck, Two Daughters is outfitted for potting/creeling for langoustine and brown crab. The crew can easily haul a thousand pots per day using the Cleopatra self hauling/self shooting system. Catches go to the midships fishroom, which is designed for standard fish boxes to keep catches alive and in peak condition.
For extra comfort at sea, Two Daughters is fitted with a Seakeeper anti-rolling gyro system.
The main engine in the aft engine room is an FPT C13 connected to a ZF 325IV gearbox. Additional electrical power is provided by the 9kW Nanni in the engine room.

The wheelhouse is laid out with a range of Furuno and Simrad electronics, plus a MaxSea plotter facing the skipper’s control position on the starboard side, while a mess area occupies the port side of the wheelhouse. Two Daughters has a hydraulic bow thruster interfaced to the autopilot.
The accommodation space in the forward section has bunks for up to four, as well as a galley area.
