In 2025, McGraw Seafood brought in Carsoe to integrate a new automated redfish line – from reception to automatic plate freezing – within the company’s existing New Brunswick facility. Now in operation, the installation took place against tight seasonal deadlines.
‘We are exactly where we wanted to be. Some adjustments are underway, but the delivered factory matches the specifications. What we expected was precisely what we received,’ reported McGraw Seafood project manager Nicolas Forget as the production line went live.

Carsoe’s turnkey approach centered on double-contact plate freezing and coherent downstream automation, delivered against a tight seasonal window. Upfront work on the project focused on compressing decision cycles and preventing rework. This stage was critical to meet the deadlines. Weekly touchpoints kept both teams fully aligned as build and installation approached.
‘The consultation and initial support for the project were quick and greatly appreciated. The weekly follow-up meetings, especially as the installation approached, allow for effective monitoring and open and constructive exchanges,’ Nicolas Forget said, commenting that on-time shipments and prepared reception are critical. During the project, logistics were planned around heavy equipment, crane work, and staging to minimise downtime and accelerate floor placement.
‘All the equipment arrived at the same time. From the moment the container was opened, the quality of the equipment was evident. Everything we needed was well anticipated,’ said McGraw Seafood construction supervisor Bertin Losier.
The processing line was installed with Carsoe installation engineers and McGraw technicians focussed on a clean, fast handover.
Post-installation, McGraw reports immediate, tangible benefits. With quick service and support from the Carsoe installation engineers, the operators were quick to learn how to operate the equipment and early-run questions were solved. Once completed, capacity met targets and reliability is trending to plan as runtime accumulates.
‘For now, capacity is satisfactory. Reliability will be confirmed over time, but everything seems to be in line,’ Nicolas Forget said.
‘The Carsoe equipment appears solid and durable. Camille’s consistent support throughout the entire process was a major strength that allows us to recommend working with Carsoe in Canada.’
