Sold earlier this year by Australian company Austral Fisheries to Chilean operator Pesca Cisne, longliner Isla Edén is now on the slipway at the Nodosa yard in Marín for a refit, maintenance and both class and flag state certifications.

Built at Brattvaag in Norway in 1995 as Antarctic 2, the longliner has been operated by Austral Fisheries for some years, until the sale to is new Chilean owners in a deal brokered by Albino Moran.
Designed to operate under low-temperature conditions Isla Edén has a track record of successful fishing. The 50-metre vessel has a 12-metre beam, a 570 cubic metre fishroom capacity and is powered by a 1700hp Caterpillar main engine.
After completing its extensive technical programme athe Nodosa yard, Isla Edén will be heading back to Chile to begin fishing for Pesca Cisne in national waters.
