The installation of an automated disinfection system on board DFFU’s new factory trawler Berlin NC-107 marks a milestone for Alvar as it aims to expand to deliver its systems to processing plants and fishing vessels outside its home territory in Iceland.
Delivered to Deutsche Fischfang-Union (DFFU) in Cuxhaven last month, Berlin has full processing systems on board for shrimp and whitefish.
Alvar has supplied disinfection systems to DFFU in the past to several of the company’s other trawlers, including the previous Berlin. Alvar’s system ensures swift and thorough disinfection that leaves every surface clean, and the automation aspect allows disinfection to be pre-programmed with a minimum of manual intervention.
