Value of catch January-March 2009

Total value of catch of Icelandic vessels amounted to ISK 26 billion in January-March 2009 compared with ISK 22.8 billion in the first 3 months of 2008. Total value increased therefore by 13.7% between years.

Total value of demersal species accounted for ISK 20.9 billion, thereof cod ISK 11.2 billion, haddock 4 billion, and redfish 3 billion. Total value of pelagic species accounted for ISK 3.2 billion and flatfish catches for ISK 1.7 billion.
