The Russian Crab Group of Companies has delivered its first crab to customers in the European Union with an initial shipment to Spain of 32 tonnes of frozen king crab sections for premium seafood distributor 02 Arctic Crab.
‘We work with raw materials directly from their point of origin, with products processed on board to guarantee the best freshness and quality. Russian Crab brand products are of high quality, good infill and excellent taste,’ said 02 Arctic Crab’s commercial director Javier Villar Van Reybroeck.
02 Arctic Crab specialises in high-quality production, and supplying both restaurant and retail customers. Russian Crab’s king crab has become the first Russian Far East products in this Spanish distributor’s catalogue.
Among the largest players in the Russian industry, Russian Crab has quotas for 12,860 tonnes of crab in various subzones of the North-Western Pacific, representing 19% of Far Eastern crab quotas.
Its fleet of 19 vessels has capacity for both live landings and frozen production at sea, with HACCP standards adhered to throughout.
The Russian Crab fishery is now in the process of undergoing MSC certification and this is expected to provide confirmation of the company’s policies and strategies in terms of environment protection and sustainable exploitation of marine resources.
