Susanne Arfelt Rajamand is taking over as CEO of Royal Greenland from February next year, stepping into the position vacated by Mikael Thinghuus, who stepped down in October after 12 years at the company’s helm.
She comes to the new appointment after fifteen years in the Asian business world as managing director of dairy giant Fonterra’s division in Southeast Asia, and prior to that with Unilever where she joined as a trainee and finished as managing director in Singapore.
‘Susanne has the profile, the international experience and the personality needed to lead the country’s most important company. She will help ensure Royal Greenland’s continued development in this country as well as maintaining the international focus,’ said Maliina Abelsen, chair of the Royal Greenland board.
‘Royal Greenland is the whole of Greenland’s business, and we have a strong focus on developing Royal Greenland in this country. To be able to do that, we must maintain the international focus and sell more in the markets that will pay the most for our products. So Susanne’s experience is exactly what we need. We are proud to be able to attract such a strong candidate with international experience. Susanne has proven what she can do on the international stage, and we look forward to continuing the positive development in the company with her at the helm.’
Susanne Arfelt Rajamand’s first day at head office in Nuuk will be on 1st February next year.
‘I am looking forward to starting at Royal Greenland,’ she said. ‘Together with the staff and the board, I believe that we can achieve the goals we want for Royal Greenland.’
