The unique Quiksling twin-harness MOB rescue and recovery system has been through a process of development, testing and improvement, completing the rigorous testing and trialling demanded by Lloyds demands before awarding Type Approval.
The Quiksling has been upgraded with improvements to fire resistance and increased lifting capacity among the changes made to it as part of the three-year type approval process.
It makes use of a unique capture system integrated within an easily entered, lightweight and throwable floating frame. Quiksling was designed to ensure the casualty not only had the best possibility of rescue, but also to address the the often trickier task of recovery to the vessel.
Using up to 80 metres of helicopter rescue standard line, Quiksling can be effective from the highest freeboards, can be deployed as quickly as a traditional life ring and stored on deck in about the same space.
Quikslings are already to be seen on board trawlers, dive support vessels, ferries and superyachts in the original Mk1 format.
Suitable for vessels of between 20 and 200 metres in length, having Quiksling on board ensures compliance with SOLAS 111/17-1 and provides assurance that in the most difficult circumstances there is a certified rescue system at hand.
