Shipyard activity is set to resume at the French port of Dieppe this spring as the Padmos yard takes over the facilities of the former MIM in the port.
After Manche Industrie Marine’s (MIM) liquidation in 2024, the Dieppe-Maritime authority, the Dieppe municipality and Ports de Normandy looked for a way to resume activity at the site to maintain ship repair and construction – seeking to meet the needs of local businesses and to ensure a continuation of these skills in the area.
Dutch shipbuilder Padmos, which also has a presence in Ireland, has taken the decision to establish itself in the port, taking over the former MIM facilities, and with around a dozen former MIM staff on the payroll.
Work is expected to start in April with some construction work at the former MIM site, and with the facility scheduled to be operational in May this year.
