Seiner Elias Johan has been delivered to Sørvågen company Benonisen Fiskeri by Vestværftet in Hvide Sande. The new vessel operates as a fly-shooter and purse seiner on a range of demersal and pelagic fisheries.

This new vessel is designed and built by Vestværftet in Hvide Sande. Maritime Competence has been closely involved in the development of the project to build Elias Johan, ensuring quotas for the new vessel.
The 50.50-metre LOA, 12- metre breadth Elias Johan has accommodation for a crew of up to13.
The deck is laid out for handling purse seine and seine net gear, with winches, cranes and other deck hardware supplied by MacGregor and fitted by Thyborøn Skibs & Motor.
Elias Johan has a variety of catch handling options, with RSW capacity in its 499m3 tank space, as well as possibilities to land catches either live or chilled. The refrigeration plant and double RSW systems are from PTG and Nordkøl supplied the slush ice plant. The catch handling system on the processing deck is from Melbu Systems.

The main engine is a 1920kW Yanmar 6EY26W, driving a Finnøy package of stern gear with a 4.55:1 G70FK reduction gearbox and a four-bladed 3380mm type P78.26.300.4D propeller inside a 3400mm nozzle.
Gensets are a pair of 750kCa Nogva Scania type DI 1690Ms, and a Elias Johan also has a 1500kW shaft generator.
Scan-Steering supplied the MT–5000 steering with two electric-hydraulic pump units, and thrusters are from Brunvoll.
Elias Johan’s wheelhouse electronics are supplied by IMES and the installation was carried out by Vest-EL in Hvide Sande, which also outfitted the new vessel’s electrical systems.
