The latest new vessel in the series of newbuilds for Russian Crab is a catcher-processor capable of generating 15 tonnes of finished product per day, and is one of three being built for the company at the Oka Shipyard.

With accommodation for a crew of 32, Kapitan Dudnik is outfitted for cooking and processing crab on board, with production frozen at sea and stored in the new vessel’s 150 tonne-capacity fishroom.
Russian Crab is one of the largest players in the Russian Far East crab sector. It has invested heavily in crab quotas at auctions and placed orders for 16 new vessels, both vivier and processor crabbers, to be built at several shipyards in Russia. Kapitan Dudnik is the fourth to be out into operation following its handover in St Petersburg.
Crab fishing company Antey has taken delivery of vivier crabber Dmitry Konoplev, delivered by the Nakhodka Ship Repair Yard (NSRY) in Primorsky Krai. This is one of a series of eight being built for Antey at the yard, of which three were floated off in late 2022 for completion at the quayside.
Dmitry Konoplev is a vivier crabber designed to operate in the Bering Sea, the Barents Sea oer the Sea of Okhotsk, able to store up to 120 tonnes of live crab in nine tanks with an overall 680 cubic metre capacity.
Both the Russian Crab and the Antey new vessels are built to the same 57.70-metre LAO, 12.60-metre breadth design.
