Marco has supplied a new PB- 56 power block to Frabelle Fishing Corp, one of the leading Philippines fishing operators.
The new unit will replace the existing power block on board tuna purse seiner Purple Beauty 888, and increasing the number of Philippine vessels that operate with Marco deck equipment technology.
The Powerblock PB-56, popular with Pacific tuna vessels, has a stainless steel drum and replaceable cleats that are intended to maximise its durability, as well as facilitate equipment maintenance. The design incorporates Marco’s exclusive Power Grip, which reduces net slippage during turning.
Frabelle Fishing Corporation is one of the top fishing companies of South Asia and has one of the largest purse seine fleets in The Philippines.
Purple Beauty 888, originally Yih Yu 612 was built in 1986 at the Fong Kuo shipyard in Taiwan. The purse seiner is 56.63 metres in length, with a 12.20 metre beam and 835 cubic metre carrying capacity.
