‘The Autoline Coastal system works well for us, and we’re excited about the upcoming electric upgrade of the system,’ said Pálmi Fannar Smárason, who has sailed as mate on Einhamar Seafood’s longliner Auður Vésteins since 2006.
He commented that the Mustad system has been integral to their operations since 2003, adding that the system is easy to operate and offers low maintenance costs, making it a perfect fit for their needs.
The crew is now looking forward to the upcoming electric upgrade of the system.
Einhamar Seafood operates several vessels, including Gísli Súrsson GK-8, Auður Vésteins SU-88, and Vésteinn GK-88, all equipped with the Mustad Autoline Coastal system.
These approximately 15-metre boats have a combined capacity of over 60,000 hooks. The fleet operates year-round, between them making between 500 and 600 landings of mainly cod and haddock over the year.
Established in 2003, Einhamar Seafood is now one of the leading fresh fish producers in Iceland. The company focuses on producing high-quality cod and haddock products.
