Pelagic vessel Lingbank, built for the Rasmusen family in 2019, has changed hands and has been acquired by the owners of Esbjerg pelagic vessel Cattleya.
The announcement was made by the Rasmussen family, stating that the vessel and its quotas have been sold. The date of the sale, 1st May, is also the 45th anniversary of the Benny Rasmussen establishing the fishing company in Hanstholm, where Lingbank had been the port’s largest fishing vessel. Lingbank and its predecessors have fished a variety of species for both human consumption and industrial production, including herring, sandeel and sprat.
It is now alongside in Skagen, renamed Cattleya M.
‘As of 1/5-2025, Lingbank A/S has been sold. It is a special feeling to announce this, but this is a voluntary decision for all parties in the fishing company,’ Lingbank’s owners stated.
The need for more quota to make up for reduced fishing opportunities following Brexit is seen as the reason for the acquisition by Cattleya’s owner Asger Flemming Pedersen.
Designed and built by Karstensens Skibsværft in 2019 for the Rasmussen family, Lingbank was the company’s first newbuild. The 45.95-metre, 13.20-metre Lingbank has a 1355 cubic metre capacity in eight tanks, chilled by a MMC-FP RSW system.
