Disappointment for Danish fishermen over quota terms
Denmark’s parliamentary parties have reached an agreement on annual state leasing and auction of fishing rights, including the auctioning of unused quotas and taxation on quotas, a move that the Danish Fishermen’s Association is deeply dissatisfied with.

Shrimp trawler order for Karstensen
After fifty years with its current owners, a Danish trawler is soon to be replaced by a new vessel ordered from the Karstensens yard in Skagen for the partnership of Thomas Hjort Samuelsen and Karl Arne Nielsen. The new trawler is scheduled to be delivered in June 2020.

Quad-rig technology for the fishing vessel of the future
There was plenty to see during the recent trip to Hirtshals organised by Hampiðjan which took a group of guests to the North Sea Centre’s flume tank. The highlights included a quad-rig trawl setup for shrimp developed by Cosmos Trawl, part of the Hampiðjan Group.

Thyborøn Skibs & Motor (3XJ) have been contracted as the main supplier for a new trawler/seine netter for local fishermen Hans Jørgen Jensen and Jens Peter Langer, who have opted for a flexible design capable of working trips offshore as well as in coastal waters.
