Big winner of the Brussels best shrimp croquette contest
The first Brussels contest took place yesterday, featuring that tiny queen of Belgian culinary heritage; the famous shrimp croquette. After a blind taste test, the panel made up of culinary journalists and headed by Pierre Wynants reached a verdict and recognised the Fernand Obb Delicatessen as the winner.

Belgian fleet choked out of VIIh-k
Speaking at the IIFET conference in Aberdeen, Emiel Brouckaert of Belgian PO Rederscentrale said that the Belgian fleet had already been hit by the choke species problem less six months into the year, with Areas VIIh-k already closed off to them.
