VCU in Urk has delivered a new fishing vessel for a Dutch inland waters fishing company.
The 20-metre LAO Heidi HK-78 has a 5.40 metre breadth and a draft of 1.30 metres and has been built in Urk to a design by Scheepsbouwkundig Bureau Herman Jansen developed to meet the requirements of the Foppen family from Harderwijk.
The complete build was carried out and overseen by VCU, and Heidi was launched last week.
Over the next few weeks VCU staff will complete the commissioning and add finishing touches to the new vessel before Heidi is ready to start fishing.
With a forward wheelhouse and accommodation for a a crew of up to six in three twin-berth cabins, Heidi has a spacious aft working deck for handling gear and catches.
Heidi has a 400hp Volvo Penta main engine, delivered by Haisma Scheepsmotoren, which drives a six-bladed Multipulsion propellor from Promarine.
Electrical systems have been delivered by DTM Techniek, the hydraulics have been installed by Fa. Meijer and electronics are from Narwal.
Heidi’s paintwork has been completed by Straalbedrijf Flevoland and the interior has been outfitted by de Flux Scheepsbetimmering.
