The Vestværftet yard in Hvide Sande has delivered a new trawler/fly-shooter capable of fishing for both whitefish and industrial species.
The 19.50-metre, 7-metre beam Silver Bird S-449 has been built for Skagen company Gitte Henning Konsum. Designed and fully outfitted by Vestværftet, it was delivered to the customer last month.

Silver Bird has a 610kW Yanmar 6AYEM main engine powering a Hundested VP 11 2280mm propeller inside a 2300mm nozzle, via a Hundested CPG 80 reduction gearbox with a 12,12:1 ratio. The reduction gear is fitted with two PTOs.
Auxiliary engines are a pair of 70kVa Mitsubishis. The bow thruster is a 90hp Hundested SFT3 unit.
Silver Bird has tank capacity for 17,000 litres of fuel, 6600 litres of fresh water and 5800 litres of processing water.
Accommodation is for a crew of up to five.
The deck is laid out with a pair of combination split winches that can be used for fly-shooting and trawling, plus a single mid-wire winch, all controlled via a Thyborøn trawl computer and with warps routed through an adjustable aft gallows.
There are two double net drums aft, plus a codend winch, and the deck crane is a TMP 700.
