Mustad Autoline and Egersund Group have joined forces to acquire both the fishing gear outlet and the net loft run by Carl Stahl AS in the northern Norwegian port of Honningsvåg.
The handover takes place on 1st January next year, with net loft manager Roy Tonny Johansen remaining in charge as well as taking a share in the venture’s ownership in both the Honningsvåg business and a fishing gear branch being set up in Båtsfjord, which is expected to be operated as a separate business.
The company has been in existence for many years and has a strong reputation – and is an important seine net gear supplier to the Norwegian fleet.
Mustad Autoline is already well established in Båtsfjord, and is due to move into a new building in March next year, with the net loft to be set up in the same premises.
By the second half of 2021, the company expects to have a 2000 square metres of production facilities in Honningsvåg.
Egersund Group and Mustad Autoline have been in contact for a long time and have considered co-operating on several occasions. When it became clear that both were looking at the options for establishing a net loft in Finnmark, a combined venture seemed the obvious outcome.
According to Hans Mustad at Mustad Autoline and Hans Kristian Mong at Egersund Group, the two companies get on well together and each complements the other’s particular fields of expertise.
