Calamarine made solely from the by-products of Calamari food processing and it is a new high-DHA Omega-3 ingredient from the Norwegian company Pharma Marine. The ingredient comprises a range of concentrates as well as natural oil made from calamari trimmings from food processing factories all over the world.
With this product Pharma Marine is adding value to these important global fishery resources. Friend of the Sea recognizes that increasing the use of fishery by-products is very important on the road towards a more sustainable future for global fisheries. It is said that announcement comes at a time when Friend of the Sea is rapidly gaining recognition as the international standard for sustainability certification of fishmeal, fish oils and Omega-3 supplements.
