Seyðisfjörður in eastern Iceland has been busier than usual in the last few days as trawlers have been making regular landings there.
Síldarvinnslan reports that the fish landed in Seyðisfjörður goes either to the Gullberg fish processing plant, or is shipped direct to Denmark in containers via the Norræna ferry.
In the last few days Gullver has landed two short trips of 50 and 40 tonnes, Barði landed a 4-day, 108 tonne trip and Bergey was next in to land. Its sister vessel Vestmannaey is due on to land next, followed by Gullver again early next week.
According to Síldarvinnslan, which is Gullberg’s parent company, there has not been such frequent traffic on Seyðisfjörður for many years.
