Fishfacts and Aquafacts have announced that entrepreneur, philanthropist and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, has invested an undisclosed amount in the online fishing and aquaculture industry information portal.
‘With Amazon, we managed to revolutionise the online shopping experience. With Blue Origin, we have made great efforts in making space more accessible for everyone, said Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
‘With this investment in Fishfacts and Aquafacts, we have managed to merge the best of both worlds: making a digital platform for the global fishing/salmon industry and tracking fishing vessels and wellboats via satellite AIS. I’m looking forward to this new adventure,’ he enthused.
Fishfacts and Aquafacts co-founder Hanus Samró is pleased with the new deal.
‘Jeff has always been an idol of mine. I am looking forward to working and learning from the best. There is a saying: eyes are the gateway to the soul,’ he said.
‘But you can also judge a man by the shininess of his head, and it is blatantly obvious that Bezos’s head glares brighter than the most. So it was an easy decision,’ Hanus Samró added.
The investment deal has been signed on Friday 1st April 2022.
