Xtratuf, producers of the uniquely robust Alaskan seaboots, are partnering with the Fishermen’s Mission, donating £1 for every pair of its commercial range boots sold on xtratuf.co.uk. Known as the Alaskan Sneaker, Xtratuf boots are an iconic piece of protective wear for fishermen around the world.
The initiative has already raised £1211 – enough to support 48.5 hours of a Port Welfare officer’s work, or to fund around 50 mental health referrals, grant applications for financial aid or visits to combat loneliness, or to provide approximately 25 emergency supermarket food vouchers as an alternative to already oversubscribed food banks.
Xtratuf marketing manager Milly Pestell received the Mission Partnership Award in recognition of this initiative, presented by Mission chief executive Marc Evans.
‘We are deeply honoured to receive The Fishermen’s Mission Partnership Award and express our heartfelt gratitude to The Fishermen’s Mission for their tireless dedication to supporting fishermen, their families, and communities,’ Milly Pestell said.
‘At Xtratuf, we share a commitment to those who brave the elements at sea and this partnership is a testament to our shared values. Together, we stand stronger, ensuring that fishermen have the support they need, both on and off the water.’
Continuing its support to the fishermen who risk their lives at sea, Xxtratuf will be taking donations at Scottish Skipper Expo on 9-10th May.
