From June this year the trading activities of Urk fishing company Ekofish are to be transferred to Yerseke company Adri & Zoon.
Ekofish was acquired in 2018 by W van der Zwan in 2018, the Scheveningen-based pelagic group that has also become a major player in the Dutch groundfish sector.
Recently Ekofish has also taken delivery of the first of a new generation of low energy, high efficiency combined twin-rigger/fly-shooters as the UK-205 was delivered to the company by Maaskant Shipyards and a second vessel is approaching completion.
Now Ekofish will concentrate completely on catching fish, with the focus on innovative and sustainable approaches to fisheries, as from 1st June trading activities are taken over as Adri & Zoon and W. van der Zwan will start an exclusive partnership, placing all trading activities that fall under Ekofish will be taken over by Adri & Zoon.
This gives Adri & Zoon access to Ekofish fish and will include these products in its range and distribute them further in Europe.
Since 1983, Adri & Zoon has been supplying fresh fish products to customers across Europe.
