The Vyborg Shipyard has signed contracts for two new trawlers to be completed for companies within the FOR Group of producers. Work is expected to start in 2021 on the 80.40m LOA, 15.50m factory vessels, with completion scheduled for 2022.

The trawlers for Atlantrybflot and LKT, both part of the FOR Group, are Skipsteknisk ST-116XL-FOR designs for fishing in the Barents Sea. The trawlers are to be built to Ice Class 3, and will be equipped with fillet factories for groundfish, fishmeal and fish oil production and canning plants. The two trawlers will each be able to operate with a crew of up to 46.

Vyborg Shipyard’s current workload includes contracts already signed with fishing companies in North-West Russia, according to the yard’s general director Alexander Solovyev.

‘This year we continue in the same direction, negotiating with potential customers and looking to continue the series of vessels under the contracts already signed,’ he said.
