Value of catch January-June 2009

Total value ISK 54 billion
Total value of catch of Icelandic vessels amounted to ISK 54 billion in January-June 2009, compared with ISK 45 billion in the first 6 months of 2008. Total value increased therefore by 18.6% between years.

Total value of demersal species accounted for ISK 40 billion; thereof cod ISK 19 billion, haddock 8 billion, and redfish 5 billion. Total value of pelagic species accounted for ISK 8 billion and flatfish catches for ISK 5 billion.
