As per the information from Bianfishco, it has exported 12,770 tons of frozen pangasius worth USD 34.05 million to 30 countries around the world. In August 2009, company exported 1,819 tons of finished product worth USD 5.5 million, in which export volume to US market reached 782 tons with USD 2.86 million.
The company told that as per the plan Bianfishco will export 70 containers of pangasius to US in August 2009. However, according to Mr. Vi Tran Tan Nang, Chief of business department, although already tried its best but Bianfishco still can’t satisfy order from American buyers.
Nang also said that currently, demand of pangasius in EU market is increasing as Christmas and New Year Festival are coming however price in this market and Middle East market are too low. For this reason, in August 2009, export value of company was shared equally for Spain, UK, Germany, Nertherland, but in total, the volume is not as much as previous month.
Bianfishco plan to export export 70 – 80 containers of pangasius to US but this month, this volume may be down to 50 containers. In September 2009, beside maintaining exports to EU market, Bianfishco will continue to boost their export to US market, by the same time, they also had plan to increase total export volume of pangasius to 30 markets to 2,570 tons.
