Tummas T FD125 which is one of the newly purchased pelagic vessels in the Faroese fleet has been fishing around the Islands for some time now.
When the vessel arrived, a new 2400 metre HEX trawl was delivered from Vónin, mainly intended for pair trawling for Mackerel and Herring in Faroese waters. The trawl performed very well and was light to tow and easy to handle.
When the vessel was given a share of the Blue Whiting quota this spring, decision was taken to try the 2400 metre trawl with the 13 square metre Injector doors that were purchased upon the ship’s arrival.
This decision proved to be a good one! Tummas T” completed its 9.300 ton Blue Whiting quota in just 6 trips using the 2400 metre HEX trawl.
