The keel of a new crab catcher for Russian Far East fishing company Antey has been laid at the Pella Shipyard in St Petersburg, following the signing of the contract between the yard and the fishing company for the first of this series of vessels.
Icelandic naval architect Nautic is the first overseas company to establish itself on the Russian market for vessel design with the acquisition of a controlling shareholding in St. Petersburg company LLC Shiptech Engineering.

The ship and its equipment have met all our expectations and to my mind the arrival of these new trawlers is a huge step into a new century,’ said Eiríkur Jónsson, skipper of HB Grandi’s new groundfish trawler Akurey, which is now in its first trip since the catch handling deck and automated fishroom systems were fitted by Skaginn 3X in Akranes.
A new twin-rigger/fly-shooter for Urk owners Rense and Johannes de Boer is scheduled for delivery in March 2019 from the Maaskant yard in Stellendam.
New shrimper Sajoni was christened at the Skagen quayside at the end of last year, and in proper Danish style, built for Henrik Terpet and Brian Sørensen to fish for shrimp and freeze on board. It replaces their older vessel that has served them well for the last five years.
