With new fishing vessels being built for French owners in Boulogne and Lorient, the Padmos shipyard at Stellendam in Holland has a healthy orderbook, which includes a couple of new twin-rigger/fly-shooters for Dutch owners.
The Nodosa Shipyard at Marín has signed a contract with the Perscuerta Group to build a new freezer stern trawler to fish in the South Atlantic – ready for the spring 2021 season.
Construction of a second in a series of longliners is in progress at the Northern Shipyard (Severnaya Verf) in St Petersburg, with the keel-laying ceremony held yesterday for an MT1112XL processor-longliner to be delivered at the end of 2020.

Scopale, based in Boulogne-sur-Mer, has welcomed its fourth new fishing vessel to the port. Built for Sébastien and Guillaume Leprêtre, the new Mercator is a 22 metre trawler/seine netter, and while it has significantly less engine power than the 1991-built trawler it replaces, it is more flexible and has better conditions for the crew.
The keel of the first of a series of new trawlers for the Russian Fishery Company has been laid at the Admiralty Shipyard, part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, in St Petersburg. The yard has also begun cutting steel for a second vessel, and the first pair of trawlers are expected to be delivered in the first half of 2020.
An order placed by fishing group Norebo with the Severnaya Verf (Northern Shipyard) in St Petersburg for six trawlers has been boosted with an additional four of these 81 metre factory vessels. The additional four 170710 project trawlers are to be delivered 2020-2023.
Vigo fishing company Rampesca has placed an order with the Nodosa shipyard for a second squid catcher for Falklands waters, for delivery in 2020 to joint venture company Ferralemes.
The Nodosa Shipyard in Galicia has delivered the first of two new trawlers for Cuxhaven fishing company Kutterfisch, which is capable of demersal and semi-pelagic trawling for a variety of species.
A pair of new live fish carriers have been launched at the Sefine shipyard in Turkey for Norwegian owners for DESS Aquaculture Shipping. The pair are due to be completed and delivered this summer.
