For the past three years, TripleNine Fish has been in touch with numerous different customers in Denmark and abroad – angling shops, zoos, etc. – which have been interested in buying the company’s products for use as angling bait and animal feed.
– Initially, we imagined that the market would only be interested in the largest sand eel, typically more than 14 cm long, says Ejgil Knudsen, Managing Director of TripleNine Fish. – However, over time we have had an increasing number of enquiries about smaller sand eel. This year, we therefore expect to start slightly earlier in order to produce sand eel with a length of 8-12 cm.
Ejgil Knudsen explains that a sorting machine has been installed in front of the freezing plant, so that the landed fish can be sorted by size with a view to sale on different markets wanting different fish sizes.
