Iceland’s National Association of Small Boat Owners (NASBO) has appointed a new director, to take over from Örn Pálsson who has been in the post since the Association was formed to defend the interests of the country’s coastal fishermen.
Bryndís Ósk Jökla Björnsdóttir has already started work and is shadowing outgoing director Örn Pálsson for the first few weeks to ensure a smooth and efficient handover.
‘I’m excited to be taking on this role and look forward to getting to know every aspect of it alongside Örn, who has a depth of knowledge and experience in the affairs of the small boat fleet,’ she said.
‘Bryndís’s project management and legal experience are an important assets to us as small boat operators,’ said NASBO chairman Kjartan Páll Sveinsson.
‘It’s a broad working environment and we’re fortunate to have an opportunity for a generational exchange of experience betweem Örn and Bryndís. I would like to thank Örn for his extensive and excellent with for the Association and look forward to working with the new director.’
