With 180 exhibitors from 18 different countries and a magnificent new venue, Scottish Skipper Expo 2022 (13-14th May) is expected to provide an exciting and comprehensive showcase for the fishing industry.
The event will be officially opened by Mairi Gougeon, the Scottish Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, and is taking place for the first time in its new location at the P&J Live arena in Aberdeen, with more space and better facilities.
‘It is wonderful to see such strong exhibitor interest in the expo, which will ensure that this will be a fabulous show for everyone,’ said Sharon Boyle, commercial fishing manager for show organiser Mara Media.
‘After a challenging couple of years, it is important that the UK and wider international industry has a meeting place where productive business can be achieved in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.’
This will be the 10th anniversary event, now firmly established as one of Europe’s key fisheries exhibitions. Sponsored by the Scottish Fishermen’s Federation, the expo will feature a boat display from Poleson Marine, as well as exhibiting stands that will cover virtually every equipment and support service available to the fishing industry today.
The organisers report that there is also be a good representation of first-time exhibitors.
At the end of the first day of the expo (13th May), a special reception will be held at the Douglas Hotel, Aberdeen at 7:00pm, sponsored by Sunderland Marine and Commercial Oils.
The fresh seafood will be supplied by Messrs J. Smith Fish Merchants and GJ Jack Seafoods, and prepared by the catering team at the Douglas Hotel. The event, which will feature live music, will be open to all exhibitors and their guests on an invitation basis.
