This follows the delivery at the end of last year of Barentsevo More, the first in the series, and two more are under construction, all under the Russian government’s investment quotas initiative.

The 86 metre, 17 metre beam Norvezhskoe More has been built at the Vyborg Shipyard and after carrying out sea trials, has been delivered to its owners. It is designed for both demersal and pelagic trawling, and has a factory deck laid out for sophisticated processing of frozen fillets, fishmeal, fish oil, and with canning capacity for roe and liver.

Barentsevo More was delivered a year ago and has been fishing successfully in northern waters. According to its owners, Norvezhskoe More will undergo testing following the handover and will be in operation by the end of this year.
