Fishing company Tikhrybkom LLC has placed an order with the Nakhodka Ship Repair Plant in the Russian Far East for a new crabbing vessel, scheduled to be operational in 2029.

The 63.20-metre Vindis is designed to operate in the northern Pacific, fishing with traps for a variety of crab species. It is being built at the Nakhodka yard under the second stage of the Russian government’s investment quotas initiative which allocates additional quota to companies that invest in fishing capacity of shore-based processing.
Vindis to be laid out with a 450kg hauler for retrieving fishing gear and a hydraulic landing crane for discharging catches. Operational autonomy is 45 days and accommodation is for a crew of up to 21.
Catch handling systems on board will include water desalination and disinfection installations.
