Norwegian carrier Rostein has acquired wellboat Orca Yka from Chilean operator Naviera Orca Chile, renamed Ro Sunrise.
Built to a Skipskompetanse design at Larsnes Mek Verksted in 2022 for its Chilean owners, Ro Sunrise is a sister vessel to the company’s existing vessels Ro Sailor and Ro Spirit, which have a 2800 cubic metre capacity.
Already on its delivery trip to Norway, Ro Sunrise is arranged for open and closed transport of salmon, as well as RSW cooling, freshwater production and freshwater treatment. It has a filter system for the collection of lice, UV treatment of water in and out of the loading rooms, and automatic washing and disinfection facilities.
After a short stay at Larsnes Mek. Verksted for some minor upgrades to its systems, Ro Sunrise is expected to go straight into operation serving the salmon industry in northern Norway.
