The Norwegian Fishermen’s Association (Norges Fiskarlaget) is encouraging skippers and fishermen to sign up for a meeting to be held alongside the Nor-Fishing exhibition in Trondheim next week.
The meeting at the Thon Hotel in Trondheim on the 18th of August is from 0900 to 1530 and there are sessions for coastal fishing and pelagic fisheries. Organised in co-operation with the Directorate of Fisheries, the Coast Guard and Marine Research Institute in conjunction with the Nor-Fishing exhibition in Trondheim, the Skippers’ meeting is designed to provide fishermen, managers and researchers with an opportunity to exchange experience and views on the conduct of fisheries regulations and enforcement.
The registration deadline is Monday 15 August and anyone wishing to participate should contact Norges Fiskarlag via email: fiskarlaget@fiskarlaget.no, stating whether their preference is to join in the cod sector session, the pelagic session, or both.
