The Port of Thyborøn will be in experienced hands when new CEO Kjartan Ross joins the team on 15th May.
A recruitment process has been taking place since February this year when it became clear that the port’s current EO would stand down at the end of June. As a result , the port’s board of directors has appointed Kjartan Ross as new CEO of the Port of Thyborøn.
The decision was formally approved by the municipal council on 24th April. Kjartan Ross will take up his new position on 15th May.
He’s not a new face in the Danish port sector. He qualified as a ship’s officer from the Svendborg International Maritime Academy (SIMAC) on Funen. Throughout his subsequent career ashore, Kjartan Ross has held various positions in the business community in North Jutland, most recently with a five-year spell as Chief Commercial Officer at the Port of Aalborg.
