There’s movement within the pelagic fleet as Norwegian purser-trawler Andrea L has been sold to Danish fishing company Themis Fiskeri.
The Swedish-owned, Danish-based Themis Fiskeri recently sold its pelagic trawler Themis to Henning Kjeldsen as he made a return to the pelagic business after having sold a large portion of his holdings and a half-built vessel (now Isafold) some years ago – announcing that he was leaving the business.
There has been speculation over what the next move by Themis Fiskeri’s owners would be, and it’s clear they’re not looking to retire as they have acquired purser-trawler Andrea L from Norway to become the new Themis.
The former Themis S-144, built for the Ryberg family at Karstensen in 2018, is now Gitte Henning S-349.
Originally Torbas, built at Raudeberg in Norway in 2015 for Torbas AS to an exceptionally high standard, this latest acquisition by Themis Fiskeri has a 69.99-metre overall length and a 15-metre beam, with 2050 cubic metre tank capacity.
It didn’t stay long with its original owners, and was sold to the Faroe Islands to become Høgaberg FD-110, before being sold back to Norway to Måløy fishing company Babord as Andrea L. Now it has been handed over to its new owners to operate under the Danish flag.
