Kapitan Sokolov is being built to an innovative Nautic Rus design for Norebo subsidiary Rybprominvest. Now that the new trawler is afloat, work continues on outfitting and equipment installation.

Work began on this lead vessel in the 170701 series in November 2018 and other vessels in the same series are a various stages of completion.

Kapitan Sokolov is named for industry veteran Vladimir Vitalievich Sokolov (1954-2015)
Designed for demersal and pelagic fishing, the 170701 series will process and freeze catches at sea, with production capacity for fillets, fishmeal, fish oil and canned products.

The 170701 series of trawlers are being built with Nautic Rus’s innovative capsule-shaped inverted bow section, designed to provide optimum seakeeping qualities and excellent energy efficiency.
