On May 15, 2008, , the seiner/trawler pelagic fishing vessel M/S Nordborg that ASMAR is currently building in its Talcahuano shipyard for the fishing company Hvalnes of Faeroe Is., entered dock N°1 “Bannen”. The ship, baptized and launched on February 20, is undergoing outfitting and finishing works, having a 68% of progress.
Some of the works include the injection of polyurethane in tanks and holds, removal of elements used in the launching, works on sea chests, installation of propeller system and rudder, installation of sonar transducers, mounting of winches and cranes, painting of tanks, and installation of antifouling system.
The M/S Nordborg will be in the dock until May 30 to continue with works while afloat and prot & sea trials to be delivered during the second semester of 2008
